Zambezi River Tiger Fish Safari
Location: Zambezi River, Southern Africa Type: Lodge
Distinguished by its powerful tail and savage teeth, Southern Africa's
legendary tigerfish is one of the world's great sportfish. Jarring strikes, lightning runs and acrobatic leaps challenge light-tackle
enthusiasts from around the globe. Your fishing safari takes you to the heart of Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park. Our selected
safari lodge accommodates 16 guests, with fishing limited to 8 anglers. Spacious walk-in tents sit on raised wooden platforms, with
verandahs for enjoying coffee or tea at sunrise. Solar lights, hot showers and flush toilets ensure comfort. Tigerfish can be hooked on
plugs, spoons or flies. Typical tigerfish weigh 3-8 pounds; trophies run from 10-20 pounds. Vundu catfish average about 25 pounds, but can get much larger.
Along with superb fishing, you'll enjoy splendid days in the African bush, with professionally guided game drives. The Zambezi River's
preserves are home to an incredible array of wildlife, including elephant, lion, Cape buffalo, kudu, zebra, impala, warthog, bushbuck
and baboons. Large pods of hippos inhabit the river, as do crocodiles. Night drives offer the chance to spot leopard, hyena and other nocturnal mammals.
