Xeriuini River Lodge
Location: Xeriuini River, Roraima State, Brazil Type: Lodge
Throughout this past decade, peacock bass fishing in South America has enjoyed tremendous popularity. With camps and mothership operations competing for the same prime water, savvy
operators are now looking for un-pressured, remote rivers to offer their clients and booking agents. One such productive peacock bass fishery is on the Xeriuini
River, located in the vast
watershed of Brazil's Roraima State. The Xeriuini River and its maze of lagoons and backwater bays is located within the protected confines of an ecological reserve. Owner/operator
Wellington Melo has obtained exclusive rights to fish this river. The Xeriuini is 130 miles long and is a tannin stained river. It harbors a fantastic population of trophy peacocks in excess of 20 pounds.
The Xeriuini River offers a natural, lightly explored fishery in the southwestern corner of the state of Roraima (on the frontier with the state of Amazonas), in a protected ecological
reserve. Many lakes provide fishermen and anglers with excellent places to fish for giant peacock bass. Anglers will fish two to a boat with an experienced local guide. The boats are
equipped with raised casting decks, swivel seats, trolling motors and coolers. This is a true trophy peacock bass fishery and anglers can expect to catch double digit fish each day.
Two camps on this river are far enough from each other so that anglers visiting either camp will not be fishing water fished by anglers visiting the other camp. The camps are made from natural
wood from the jungle and the buildings are interconnected by raised walkways. Two anglers will share an air-conditioned room, each equipped with private bathroom and shower.
