Amazon, Brazil. With its distinctive bright red underbelly, the endemic Fire Peacock Bass is one of Thaimacu's main attractions, besides the biggest Payaras in Brazil. Other
exotic species are the Matrinxa, a beautiful giant silvery shad like fish with a surface strike and fight similar to those of the
Peacock Bass, the Trairao, a fearsome pre-historic looking predator with a violent strike that is generally spotted visually, and the exotic Bicuda, Pacu, Pirara and Jau.
With capacity for 32 people, the Thaimacu Lodge offers double rooms with private bathrooms with cold-hot water showers, air conditioner, fridge and laundry service. 20 18ft aluminum bass
boats with 25-hp engines, electric trolling motors and comfortable seats. The guides are experienced locals with incredible knowledge of the local fish, fish habits, and fishing techniques.
