-churned waters at the Salto Grande Dam where the dorado grow to quite an amazing size. With large heads and powerful jaws filled with sharp teeth, the dorados
average about 3 feet long and are a worthy adversary for even the best angler.
The average size of the golden dorado is about 6-25
pounds, but the largest recorded size is 68 pounds.The aggressive nature of the dorado, its high jumps, and great fighting strength and stamina have created a great
competitive market among anglers from all corners of the world, traversing South American waters in hopes of hooking a dorado.
