Colombia opens its doors to international peacock bass anglers with the opening of Refugio
Nimajay on the shores of the beautiful Bita River. Located 30 miles west of Puerto Carreno on the magnificent Eastern Plains of Colombia, Refugio Nimajay is a private ecological reserve
which caters to eco-tourism, sport fishing, as well as scientific research teams. In addition to the eco-tourism activities such as wildlife and bird watching and kayaking, it offers world class sport
fishing for large peacock bass and other species such
as pacu, piranha, arawana and many
catfish species. For interested parties, we offer as part of the package two days at our outpost tent camp for great payara and sardinata fishing on the exotic whitewater rapids and rocky
islands of the mighty Orinoco River.Refugio Nimajay uses 14-foot Carolina Skiffs with 25 hp outboards and experienced native guides who will guide you to the many lagoons and prime fishing spots. The lodge
features two large cabins with two rooms each accommodating a total of 8 anglers. Each room has two single beds, private bathroom, running water, fans, 24-hour electricity and
daily laundry service. The main building includes a large dining room where great meals and open bar drinks are served and a lounge area with satellite TV for Anglers to enjoy while they
relax at the end of the day. The package includes airfare between Bogota and Puerto Carreno, transfers and hotel stay in Bogota.
