You are not going to believe this one!
Last night my wife and I got to watch a sneak preview of a new episode of
In-Line Fishing hosted by Gus Jojos while fishing from the Amazon Queen II
on the Rio Negro last October. Sure, we have all seen peacock bass shows
before but have you ever seen a 'Catch of a Lifetime' caught on camera?
While filming his TV show, Gus makes one cast with a Woodchopper, gets about
three pulls before a fish blows up on his lure missing it. He then pauses
(counter intuitive) when his lure is pounced on by not just one but two
peacocks. Now, a lot of us have landed two fish on one lure before (me
included) but never have I heard of somebody hooking, let alone landing, a
16lb and 18lb peacock bass on one lure! That's right, 34 pounds of the
meanest freshwater fish there is on just one cast!
All this incredible excitement is captured on film and will be airing this
fall on TV as well as the In-Line Fishing website www.in-linefishing.com.
You really need to see this to believe it.
I just want to thank Gus for setting the bar way too high for the rest of us
mere mortals. |

Finally, I have been able to put the ‘Catch of a Lifetime’ footage on the net so all of you can watch it if you like. Just to recap, I’m talking about 34lbs of Peacock Bass on 1 lure on 1 cast (16lbr & 18lbr) boated.
You can access it via my homepage (lower left hand corner) www.monsterpeacockbasslures.com
I’ve been fortunate to catch a few Monster Peacocks myself, I’m afraid however; this is something that may take some time in topping. |
