Saw a great show on the early explores of the Amazon Rain Forest including Theodore Roosevelt nearly dying while exploring a previously uncharted river. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It will be shown again June 17th 6:00 EST You can go to the History Channel on the computer and read about it.

Always wondered how The Rio Roosevelt River in Brasil got it's name, now I know. Have heard there is some good peacocks in that river also. Have any of you guys fished the region. Bobby Foster

I actually read the book: 'River of Doubt : Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey' before my visit to Brasil in February. It was an interesting adventure as well as an insightful portrait of Roosevelt himself. Well recommended for anyone with an interest in the region and its history.
