Art,
That weight restriction is for total luggage, not including carry-on, but some people "get away" taking on a small carry-on or fanny pack. My advice is to make sure you don't bring any more than 44 lbs total, assuming that is the weight limit you have been told by your outfitter. If over limit, you're taking too much stuff. You only need 3 changes of clothes because they do your laundry daily. Assumming you're a first timer, you're likely bringing too much gear, we all do. Search the old posts on this forum about how much tackle to bring and you'll learn that you don't need nearly as many lures as you think.
If you're taking a float plane, there isn't room for any carry-on except a fanny pack or similiar.
If you're taking a small commuter plane, you might get away with a small shoulder bag, but don't count on it! It just depends on the day, the staff, the pilot. When I went on the commuter, they didn't weigh my small shoulder bag that I wore across my shoulders, it had 5 fishing reels inside. But you never know! Also, Delta allowed me to carry-on my travel rod case going down to Brazil, but then the Brazilians made me check it on the return flight! Go figure... |
