Talked to the owner of Itapara today. The water levels continue to be low, about 4ft but steady. Fishing was been good with the topwater bite being off. Best lures are minnow lures, jigs, and flies.

West of Barcelos they have been receiving some rain lately and water levels have gone up some. Also heard the fishing has been very good.

I head to Itapara Jan 27 while have numerous friends heading west of Barcelos up to the Alegria around the same time.

Have not received any reports on the dorado fishing from La Zona Lodge since they reopened around the 1st of the year.

Appears the later part of the peacock fishing season should be great! Cool

Good fishing, Bob Daly

As mentioned in previous post I was just at Itapara. Water levels are 7ft low and dropping.

A friend was scheduled to fish Itapara this coming weekend with River Plate Anglers but was relocated to fish the BlackWater Explorer around the Santa Isabel area due to the extremely low water levels on the Itapara especially where RPA fish.
