AMAZON RIVER ADVENTURES - JUST IN! Feb 9, 2015 group just back from the Rio Cuini/Alegria Fly-In Floating Safari Camp. Group of 7 Anglers - and again originally scheduled for Rio Araca but due to low water levels 2 weeks prior, we moved them over to the Cuiuni. *These guys were PBA members!
TOTAL FISH = 525
Over 20# = Total 9 (GOOD JOB!)
BIGGEST FISH: 23#
(one of our Anglers caught a 20, 21, 22, and 23#'er!)
Over 10# = 29 fish
Quite a number of lighter weight fish on this trip, however, Guides reported a great time with these Anglers during this week.
LURE OF CHOICE: Jig
Weather: 3 days of rain
Water slightly high at current time
Water Temperature: Cold
Tight Lines Always,

Nine over 20# sounds like a great catch for just 7 anglers! Congratulations. I've always thought that the Cuini was one of the best giant peacock bass waters in the Amazon. I had one of my best weeks ever there ... many years ago. It is one my highlights in my log on our website! |

Thanks, Larry. I believe we will open it up to be fished through March 2015 as it looks very promising.

Amazon-Angler.com fished with 6 guys in March on the Cuiuni. Hardly any rain and water levels were great, low mid-section but started to rise after 4 days. We fished on the Negro for the next few days.
Most guys caught fish over 15lbs, one 20lb on the nose and a number of smaller fish.
Plenty of topwater 'slaps' and a lot of explosions but more aggressive rather than hungry strikes.
Lure of choice: Stevie Stinger and Ultimate jigs! |
