Some of our Supporting Member outfitters/operations have been telling me of very good fishing going on in the Amazon Basin. Most rivers have been producing some quality fish and some have yielded big numbers of peacock bass. A couple of operations have had 5 to 7 fish over 20 pounds and bunches of them between 15 and 20 each week during the last two. It definitely looks like this "season" will be a very good one. Many put their weekly catching results on their own websites so be sure to check their full contact info (including website address) at http://www.peacockbassassociation.com/html/contact_dir_.html. Many of those Supporting Members are also registered on this forum and some post results here as well.

I just heard back from the outfitter I am going down with next week. Last week they had an awesome week, boating 42 fish 15lb - 20lbs. No fish over 20lbs, but that region is not known for 20lb+ fish. Just lots of teeners. Average was 75 fish per boat per day. Sounds like a lot of fun. Hope water levels maintain their decent!!
