On my last trip the surface lures were not working due to high water, so I never even tried my Chug Bug I had.

I just re-outfitted it with some new gladiator VMC 6X hooks and new ower rings and went to the pond to see what it was all about.

It sails through the air (like casting a spook) and allows for some really fun target casting. During the retrieve, working it just like a woodchopper, it pushes a huge amount of water around for such a small lure, not to mention it is very easy to work (being light). You really need to keep the speed and pressure up on it to get it humming, but if you have fast reels you should be fine.

Others have posted that they work great for peacocks, so I am now really excited to have a few in the rotation.

but didn't land a single fish, not even a strike. Spooks and Woodchoppers were king on the top-water.
