With the peacock bass "early season" starting with last week's report from River Plate about their average 100 fish days in southern Brazil, we are starting to receive some water level reports. In southern Brazil, the Marmelos is just below the normal level for this time of the year and around the Igoapacu, they remain high but are falling. The Rio Negro is very high which is normal for this time of year. In our August Issue of "The World of Peacock Bass", we have more detail on water levels in the Amazon Basin from a second source. PBA members should be sure to check that out!

Larry, et al:

How is the weather and water levels so far in peacock country? Any trends or long term forcasts for the Amazon Basin this fall/winter?

We should have a first hand report in a week or so. Anyone else out there with up to date info?

Frank,

How about a water level report from your trip and info gathering mission?
