I was just e-mailed these new weight limits yesterday.

"Luggage Weight Limit: 36 lbs per person is allowed on the float plane divided as follows: One 6 lb piece as Carry-on plus two 15 lb pieces each as Check-in packed in soft duffle bags."
"All luggage (Carry-on & Check-in) will be weighed at the airport. No over-weight will be allowed on the float plane and any excess luggage that has not been left at the hotel's storage on arrival will be taken back there."

What are you guys thoughts on this matter???

I noticed these requirements from River Plate's float plane operator as well. From the wording of the notice, I kind of think that they are specific to their Cessna Caravan float planes that Luis uses. Since there are other operators with smaller planes and some with similar that service other outfitters, I believe they would have their own requirements. My opinion.

It is still encumbent on all anglers traveling on any of the smaller planes (lfoat or wheel) from the international gateway city into the "jungle" to know and adhere to any baggage requirements/restrictions. (Note: Be sure to see the upcoming newsletter/eZine for travel tips related to this) :D
