Has anyone used a Senko/senko type bait with any success for peacocks,
disregarding the obvious drawback from the toothy ones? I'm not looking to expand into different baits for the baits themselves but a different application. Last Dec. the water was a little hi and there were a lot of places that had vegatation in front of the trees where you could not throw a treble hook or jig.

Hi Ed,

We have had some success using the Tiki Bamboo (little stronger than a senko) for peacock bass. Our best results have come fishing it weightless on a 5/0 worm hook, using a ‘walk the dog’ type retrieve either on top or just under the surface. Obviously it works best in an area were you know the peacocks are. If used to locate peacocks, chances are good you’ll locate piranha. During high water times you can cast it into the timber and bushes without the worry of getting hung up.
